Recently added in RuneScape (and on RuneTracker) is the ability to change your display name, and to merge data about skill EXP gains between your old name and your new name.
RuneTracker admins go through requests if their verdict is Soft Fail, which is often caused by EXP gains being too high for a certain interval of time. To ensure your verdict is never Soft Fail, and your merges go through automatically, here's a series of tips.
1. Track yourself on your old name (or login name) by going to your old tracker page, http://runetracker.org/track-your_old_name , immediately after logging out of RuneScape and before changing your name.
2. Track yourself on your new display name by going to your new tracker page, http://runetracker.org/track-your_new_name , about half an hour after your name change request is processed on RuneScape.
3. Do not gain massive amounts of EXP in the meantime, with things such as zeal, Pest Control points, Brimhaven agility tickets or penguin points. Keep your EXP gains below 10k per skill.
4. If one of your mini-game rankings is lower than before, this may cause Soft Fails. For best results, do not play mini-games during your name change. Continue after you've merged your new name on RuneTracker.
Following tips 1 and 3 make sure that the EXP difference is kept low or zero (for the best chances, do not gain any EXP at all) between your old and new names. Following tip 2 ensures that RuneTracker does not give you a Hard Fail instead. This Hard Fail would be due to RuneTracker not knowing you at all under your new name, therefore all of its stats are 0 EXP by default.
Once your names are changed, you can continue gaining EXP as before!
Happy Scaping!
