Have you ever seen a shortened URL and wondered where it went? But then, a sudden fear overcame you...could it be a Rickroll? Porn? Or a virus!?! The nagging curiosity of those links would continue to gnaw upon your insides, and the temptation was unbearable. Fear Not! This problem is no more thanks to RuneScript's new URL Expansion command
By providing a shortened URL via "!longurl," RuneScript will provide you with the forwarding website's URL, Title, and Mime Type.
(11:49:56) <+Kyle> @longurl http://rly.cc/jN_tv
(11:49:57) <~RuneScript> *** [ LONGURL ]: <http://rly.cc/jN_tv> -> <http://www.google.com/> (Title Google | Content text/html)
(11:55:57) <+Kyle> @longurl http://rly.cc/qcOUD
(11:55:59) <~RuneScript> *** [ LONGURL ]: <http://rly.cc/qcOUD> -> <http://b.rscript.org/download/file.php?avatar=252.gif> (Content image/gif)
This command should work for any redirection URL, but please report anything which seems to not work. Also, it will only work with valid URLs on both ends. In other words, the ShortURL you provide must redirect to a real website (Not something like dsfasdfdsa.com).
(12:02:23) <+Kyle> [zs] @rly.cc dfadsfsdgdf.com
(12:02:24) <~[ZS]RuneScript> *** [ SHORTURL ]: Success! "dfadsfsdgdf.com" -> http://rly.cc/mzl1g
(12:02:36) <+Kyle> [zs] @longurl http://rly.cc/mzl1g
(12:02:37) <~[ZS]RuneScript> *** [ ERROR ]: Could not expand URL. Please check that you have submitted a valid URL
And yes, I know we're a month late
